HDFest is an experimental/new media film festival that features every style from animation to music videos and documentaries (and a few in between). The one aspect that distinguishes this particular gathering from the rest is that it features high definition entries. It's the only festival in the world that places the spotlight on the format. Call for entries ends March 31. The festival will take place in the fall. Check the picture I have included below for site/event details.

One other enticing factor this event has going for it involves music. HDFest holds a special, designated section for filmmakers and musicians wishing to become intwined through their art. It gives musicians a chance to have their music heard in an indie flick, while the filmmaker gets to impress viewers with their undergound musical expertise. It's a great opportunity for connecting and gaining insight and familiarity with aspects of both industries that aren't necessarilly exposed on a regular basis. So if you want music that does not cost entire annual salaries inserted into your film (or you just like discovering new artists in either realm), check out HDFest this year.
